Bas NieuweWeme is the Former Global CEO of Aegon Asset Management and member of the Management Board of Aegon N.V. (2019-2024).

Bas currently manages a portfolio of non-executive and senior advisory roles around three chosen themes: Sport, Social Impact and Financial Services. He is a senior advisor at BCG, a non-executive director in the board of Cwan, and a supervisory board member at DMFCO and at DWS Group. He also serves as the Team Manager of the Dutch Men’s National Fieldhockey team. Having obtained a Master of Laws (2000) and an Executive MBA in 2007, Mr. NieuweWeme has worked in global investment management for over 25 years.

The majority of this time was spent in various management positions within ING (later Voya) Investment Management. PGIM and as Global CEO of Aegon Asset Management. He served as vice-chairman of the supervisory board of La Banque Postal Asset Management and as a non-executive on the board of AIFMC in China (2019-2024).

He is also a member of the Leadership Council of AmeriCares, a non-profit disaster relief and global health organization.
