Willem Boezen is Chairman and CEO of Rabobank North America. Rabobank is represented in North America in the US, Canada and Mexico. It has three distinct businesses: Corporate & Institutional Business, Farmer Financing and Equipment Leasing through DLL. With almost 3,000 employees in North America, Rabobank is a leader in its selected market segments. Willem is also a member of the global credit committee of Rabobank Group and a member of the investment committee of Rabobank Equity Investments, after having chaired this committee for 7 years. With a EUR 3.5bn investment mandate, Rabobank Investments is one of the premier captive private equity investors.
Until June 2024, he was responsible for the global Corporate & Institutional client activities of Rabobank. Prior to this role, he was Global Head of M&A at Rabobank. Willem has a passion for strategic boardroom advisory, driving growth, simplification and business transformation and helping professionals to reach their full potential. He brings 33 years of corporate and investment banking experience with a strong emphasis on M&A advisory, credit & risk management and capital markets. He has advised clients in >30 countries around the world across a wide range of industries.
Previously, Willem worked for Royal Bank of Scotland, now Natwest, and ABN AMRO, where he started his career in 1993. He held various positions in Research, Structured Finance, M&A advisory and Client Coverage in Amsterdam, London and Hong Kong. Prior to that served in the Royal Dutch Army.
Willem holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Groningen University (1991) and also studied at INSEAD, Fontainebleau (France) and Anderson School of Management, University of California in Los Angeles (US). Willem is married, with four children and lives in Greenwich, Connecticut.
