Wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will pay formal respects to fallen American service members at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday June 1st. The visit to Arlington marks the crucial role played by the United States in liberating the Netherlands and Europe during World War II. On behalf of the Dutch people, the royal couple wants to convey and express its gratitude for that role.
The wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier will take place on Monday June 1st at 9:00am. The ceremony will be open to the public, and you are cordially invited to attend. If you plan to do so, please arrive before 8:30am.
Please take into account the wreath laying is a solemn ceremony. We request that you adhere to Arlington National Cemetery’s general visitor rules.

Baseball game between the Washington Nationals and the Toronto Blue Jays at the Nationals Stadium in Washington, D.C.
All Dutch nationals and their American friends are invited to attend the game. The Nationals have provided a designated area for us to cheer both for the Nationals and the Royal Couple. To purchase tickets click here.
Since the color orange is the color of the Baltimore Orioles, and since the Nationals will honor the US Army during the game, we are asking everyone to dress in red, white and blue instead of our customary orange.
We hope to see all of you, your friends and family!
