FrieslandCampina: How a Dutch Dairy Giant Conquers the USA

FrieslandCampina USA, one of the largest dairy cooperatives in the world, opened its new office with five operating companies in Paramus, NJ in 2015 after consolidating the US activities from multiple locations. One of these operating companies is Creamy Creation (Alcoholic Beverages), spearheaded by Rutger van den Noort.
Rutger will tell more about the structure and organization in the US and the overall company strategy called Route2020. Also the continuous balance between milk processing and value creation is part of the agenda. Rutger will shed light on trends in the dairy market, and selling and growing the Dutch brand in the US marketplace.
During the presentation, delicious cream liqueurs will be served!

About the Speaker
Dr. Rutger van den Noort (1982) grew up in the poultry capital of the Netherlands: Barneveld. After getting his bachelor and master degree in Industrial Engineering in Groningen, he started working in the credit card industry as a chip expert. He developed the chip on the Rabobank Credit card but quickly changed jobs in order not to become a tech geek. He continued his career at C1000 supermarkets as an innovation manager, and he also started writing his Ph.D thesis at the Technical University of Delft on Innovation Management during the evenings and weekends. In 2009, he changed jobs to FrieslandCampina, world’s leading Dairy Cooperative. His current role is Vice President of FrieslandCampina USA and segment leader for the cream liqueur product line. Rutger lives in Ridgewood, NJ, is married and has three kids of which the last was born four months ago in the US. In the evenings, Rutger is trying to get his next belt in Taekwondo next to writing background articles for a Dutch newspaper and the blog Jalta. More information on: http://www.rutgervandennoort.nl
