Jan-21-2016: Achraf Sekhiri Director at Bridge North America President and CEO at Euro VAT Refund presented valuable information about doing business in Europe from an American perspective.
Djoeke presented an update about important changes affecting the Dutch living in Southern California after the Dutch Consulate closed it’s doors in Los Angeles in September of 2015.
Achraf Sekhiri followed by providing a presentation on the typical pitfalls American businesses face when wanting to establish presence in Europe. Achraf explained where and how Bridge can help setting up and running an European headquarter for American companies.
Britta Erikkson’s presentation perfectly latched on to Achraf’s presentation and explained the differences between sales tax as we know it in the USA and sales tax versus VAT (value added tax) in Europe. Britta further explained which countries within the EU would be best suited for setting up a European HQ, and explained why the Netherlands in particular is the country to choose. Multinationals like Amazon, Google, Ikea, are among the growing list of companies who setup their European operations in The Netherlands.
The presentations were succeeded by a new years reception in the foyer of Van Tilburg, Banvard & Soderbergh Architects office.
